Thankful for the Memories…At Least For This Year

Well, y’all, Thanksgiving is looking a bit different this year for many of us. For me, I will miss having all my five grown children around our table. The memories of past family gatherings are very clear. But, as my mom used to tell me, “This too shall pass.” And it will in time.

Maybe it’s time for the holidays to get back to being about relationships and giving to one another. As we look to create new holiday traditions, simplicity will probably be on everyone’s mind. I gave all of my kids a set of Deer mugs and dessert plates. We can share a cup of coffee or hot cocoa through zoom. Something so little can end up creating a memory for years to come. Funny, even my boys loved the idea of a set of holiday china. Giving a picture frame of your favorite moments is also a great way to connect with those important to us.

Whatever your holidays look like this year remember two things, memories last forever and “This too shall pass.” If you need an escape, come walk around Southern Muse and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with us. We are a large enough store to keep a safe social distance. So you will always see a friendly face and some good old fashioned socializing.
